Long before we understood plants through laboratories, people knew them through relationship.
They noticed how a leaf changed the rhythm of a morning. How a flower softened grief.
How a root restored strength after exhaustion.
Plants were never simply remedies.
They were teachers.
When our founder studied alongside Kichwa midwives in the Ecuadorian Amazon, she learned that the most important question wasn't,
"What does this plant do?"
It was, "What is this plant helping me notice?"
Because the wisdom wasn't only found in the plant. It was found in the way the body responded to it.
Some plants bring clarity. Some invite stillness.
Some awaken energy. Some remind us to rest.
The more we listen to plants, the more we begin to hear ourselves.

JULY 2020
After coming off birth control, our founder Nicole began her journey of healing her hormones naturally through TCM and learning to listen to her body.
APRIL 2021
After months of healing, she felt called to reconnect more deeply with her body, womb, and feminine energy.
MARCH 2023
She left corporate life to study natural medicine, cycle syncing, and the feminine wisdom of cultures around the world.
JANUARY 2024
She set the intention to return to Ecuador and deepen her relationship with plant medicine and ancestral wisdom.
DECEMBER 2024
She began an 8-week master plant medicine diet that would transform her understanding of healing and surrender.
DECEMBER 15, 2024
A package from Ecuador introduced her to guayusa and cacao, two plants that would carry her through her transformation.
JANUARY–FEBRUARY 2025
She traveled to Ecuador to begin her plant medicine journey and discovered the Kichwa Midwives of Amupakin.

Through a deep inner transformation, she discovered that healing is not something to do alone.

During her integration period after her plant medicine ceremony in the cloud forest, she awoke with a vision and painted the symbol that would become the Se Luz logo. A symbol of how women transmute and alchemize energy through their wombs and into Mother Earth.
FEBRUARY 2025
In the cloud forest of Ecuador, she discovered Cacao husk,a companion, that taught her that rest is a superpower, not a reward.
MAY–JUNE 2025
She returned to Ecuador to study natural gynecology and midwifery with Kichwa women in the Amazon.
JUNE 7, 2025
The same day she assisted a natural birth, she met her guayusa supplier and connected the medicine back to its roots. Sourcing from over 700 indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon, who practice traditional chakra and agroforestry practices.
JULY 2025
She met the supplier behind her cacao husk, supporting reforestation and communities across coastal Ecuador.
MAY–JULY 2025
She designed the packaging and brought the two plants that carried her journey into production.
AUGUST 8, 2025
After years of healing and months of creating, Se Luz officially launched.
SEPTEMBER 2025–JANUARY 2026
The first orders arrived, refill packs launched, and Se Luz began growing beyond the original vision.
FEBRUARY - MAY 2026
Se Luz began creating wellness experiences and small-batch orders reached Namibia and South Africa.
SEPTEMBER 2026
Se Luz Healing joined Climate Week to highlight Indigenous led bioeconomies and how plant based partnerships can support thriving communities while protecting the Amazon.
MAY–JUNE 2026
Se Luz was featured in wellness media, entered NYC cafés, and continued gathering community around the plants.
AUGUST 2026- CURRENT
Se Luz Healing teas officially arrive at 113 Spring NYC, marking a new chapter in the journey.
